
Auto auctioneering and insurance group Shannons is gearing up for spring auction on August 31, where bidders may just flip their lids.
Several highly desirable soft and open toppers will be on offer at the auction, including a bright red 1962 Ford Thunderbird in mint condition, expected to attract more than $70,000.
Australian hardware will also be auctioned in the form of a low-kilometre 2007 Elfin MS8 Clubman which is powered by an LS1 V8 and is expected to attract bids up to $80,000.
Other vehicles on offer include a pair of Porsche 911 Targas, from 1978 and 1977 respectively, which are expected to fetch between $28,000 and $42,000.
Likely to receive bids of up to $85,000 is a black 2005 Ford Mustang GT convertible, and at the other end of the spectrum and is a 1998 MGF Abingdon 'Limited Edition' roadster that is predicted to attract final bids of between $10,000 and $15,000.
The Germans are represented by a pair of Mercedes-Benz SL convertibles, one a 1970 280SL ($75,000-$85,000) and the other a 1987 560SL ($22,000-$26,000).
Italian car lovers are also catered for at Shannons spring auction, with a black 1968 Alfa Romeo 2000 'Graduate' Spyder expected to attract bids of around $15,000 while a 1980 Fiat 2.0-litre Spyder could go for as low as $12,000.
Two and three-wheel enthusiasts will also be catered for with two 1963 Vespa 150cc scooters, one with a matching sidecar, and a 1999 Secma Fun Tech 50cc three-wheel Roadster, all of which are offered with no reserve. For more details check out the Shannons website.
