SPY PHOTOS: Audi R8 GT Spyder
Audi R8 GT blows its top ahead of Frankfurt Motor ShowAudi has been beaten to the punch with spy photographers Carparazzi snapping these images of its upcoming R8 GT Spyder, months ahead of the performance model's official motor show debut.
Photos of 'the real thing' were snapped at the Nurburgring just weeks after we brought you design sketches from the team in Ingolstadt, the roadster version shown here with a familiar GT body kit, 19-inch alloys and larger-than-life rear spoiler.
Power will come from the same 5.2-litre V10 found under the, er, bonnet of its coupe sibling, the 417kW/540Nm offering enough to propel the roadster to triple figures in 3.8 seconds (approx.), and on to a top speed of 311km/h.
Rumour has it that production of the 2012 Audi R8 GT Spyder will be limited to just 333 units when it's officially debuted at the 64th Frankfurt International Motor Show in September.
