Our spy photographers have managed to capture images of the upgraded Mercedes-AMG E 63 performance sedan ahead of its global debut and its local release alongside the rest of the facelifted E-Class range in November.
Captured wearing next to no camouflage and in wagon form, the 2021 Mercedes-AMG E 63 you see here was reportedly parked outside AMG’s Affalterbach headquarters in Germany.
Like the updated E-Class range revealed earlier this month, the refreshed E 63 will bring a host of new tech including the latest MBUX infotainment unit with gesture control, a new steering wheel and advanced autonomous driver aids.
As we noted from previous spy shots, the E-AMG will also take on similar styling cues to its mainstream siblings, including the new E 53, in the form of a redesigned front-end, thinner tail-lights and revised quad exhaust outlets.
But the biggest change will be a powertrain upgrade that brings more performance, thanks to the addition of a 48-volt mild-hybrid system alongside its twin-turbo 4.0-litre V8 engine.
On top of the biturbo V8’s existing 450kW/850Nm outputs in the current E 63 S, like the upcoming Mercedes-AMG GLE and GLE 63 S, electrification will add an extra 16kW/250Nm.
Expect more details including pricing and powertrain specification closer to the model’s launch.
