The 2025 Cupra Raval has been spotted testing in Germany under a vivid veil of camouflage ahead of its reveal sometime next year.
Already confirmed for the Australian market, the Raval will be the Cupra’s smallest model to date and slot into the Spanish brand’s range beneath the existing Born EV as a battery-electric alternative to the Hyundai i20 N and VW Polo GTI.
Other rivals will include hot versions of the electric MINI Cooper, the Abarth 600e and Alpine A290.
Cupra prides itself on offering cars that are both sporty to look at and drive, and it’s clear the Raval will be no different.
Almost perfectly resembling the concept version, the Raval carries all the hallmarks of a Cupra product with its sharp contours front and rear, tri-angular lighting signatures and bold character lines.
Drive will be provided by a singular 166kW electric motor mounted to the front axle which should yield some old-school front-drive dynamics and respectable performance.
The MEB Entry platform hiding underneath is shared with the upcoming VW ID.2 and Skoda Epiq with two battery capacities set to be offered: 38kWh and 56kWh, the latter said to offer roughly 440km of WLTP range.
Both units can be DC fast-charged at up to 125kW.
It’s unclear if the platform will accommodate a dual-motor powertrain, however there’s little doubt Cupra will have already been exploring that possibility with the help of parent company VW.
Depending on when its global reveal takes place, you should expect to see the Cupra Raval on Aussie roads either in late-2025 or the first half of 2026.
