Last month we brought you spy images of the new 2025 Aston Martin DBS; now we can bring you the first images of its arch-rival: the Ferrari 812 Superfast successor.
Codenamed F167 and rumoured to make its first public appearance at the Miami Formula 1 Grand Prix on May 2, the new V12-powered GT supercar was caught by our spy photographers outside Ferrari’s head office in Maranello this week.
Of course, it’s a heavily camouflaged engineering prototype, so there’s not much to see in terms of fine details, however it’s clear the F167 will advertise its potent performance with an Aston-scaring design.
The 812 replacement is tipped to develop 625kW – compared to the current 588kW – from a waling, even-more-rev-happy V12 and drive the rear wheels through Ferrari’s latest dual-clutch transmission.
From the spy shots, the silhouette previews some softer and more flowing lines compared to the 812, along with a squarer-themed nose cone and less angular headlight clusters.
The 812’s famously round tail-lights are being switched out for a slimline full-width LED arrangement, but the signature quad exhausts will be retained to help the V12 sing.
Our sources in Italy tell us Ferrari stopped taking new orders for the 812 – and all of its derivatives – as far back as February 2022 to manage the transition to the new model, which could carry an asking price of almost $700,000.
The mooted public debut on May 2 coincides with the end of Ferrari Cavalcade International USA 2024 and the beginning of the Miami Formula 1 race weekend, where plenty of prospective customers would be on hand for the unveiling.
