Following our spy-pics story in July last year, these are the latest spy photos of Audi's next A6 Allroad crossover, which is to be based on the fifth-generation A6 model due to arrive in Australia early this year.
Although not a lot of new detail is revealed by the gradual stripping-off of the spy cladding, what is indicated is that Audi is closing in on the new wagon's reveal, possibly later this year.
The latest shots give us a better look at the body details including the straked bonnet and side-window garnishings, as well as the tail light lenses, all of which appear to replicate details adorning the current A6 Avant. There's also a different set of black, multi-spoke wheels.
As in the previous spy photos, the toughened-up wheel arches look to remain a signature of the A6 Allroad. The Allroad's raised suspension is also clearly evident, although it's clear the Avant-based soft-roader is not intended for anything other than mildly-challenging off-bitumen excursions.
The driveline for the Audi A6 Allroad is expected to replicate AWD versions of the A6 Avant (Which, unlike the A6 Allroad is not earmarked for Australia), starting with the company's 3.0-litre TFSI V6 driving all four wheels through a seven-speed S Tronic DCT gearbox. The engine line-up is also tipped to include the corporate 3.0-litre turbo-diesel V6, with the AWD driveline featuring a locking centre differential. It's anticipated the transmission in this case will be a conventional eight-speed Tiptronic.
