Is it possible to make the recently updated Audi RS5 uber coupe even more special? Exhibit A) your Honour, the RS5 Cabrio, which brings all of the coupe's power and poise to the table, but allows you to do it al fresco!
These spy photos hot off the press confirm the existence of the all-wheel drive Audi RS5 Cabrio and, judging by the vehicle's tidy bodywork, we'd say the car is undergoing final testing and will be officially unveiled very soon, most likely at the 2012 Paris Motor Show.
Carparazzi snapped these photos of the Audi RS5 Cabrio at the world's most unforgiving proving ground, the Nurburgring, and the new model will benefit from all the updates bestowed on the recent Audi RS5 coupe facelift, and could even deliver a surprise or two.
We're hoping for LED-infused rollover bars.
Power will be provided by Audi's tried-and-tested 4.2-litre direct injection V8 motor, which outputs 331kW/430Nm, enough shunt to propel the convertible Audi from 0-100km in less than 5.0 seconds.
Carparazzi's spy photogs point out that this prototype vehicle has an "S5 rear end but the production model will adopt a sportier bumper and a massive dual exhaust system."
Should the BMW M3 Convertible be worried?
