SPY PICS: Bentley Conti GT V8 RS

Winged brand aims to take the fight to Aston Martin with a high-performance version of its V8-powered Continental GT
Bentley is looking to further flesh out its Continental GT range, and the latest version is a high-po twin-turbo V8 model that may be known as the GT V8 RS.
These Automedia spy pics of an undisguised prototype at the Nurburgring provide an excellent look at the upcoming hotshoe as it pounds around the daunting Nordschleife.
A quick glance is all that's necessary to take in the aggressive front splitter and prominent rear spoiler affixed to the bootlid. The car also sits lower than the V8 S, as well as wearing a beefier wheel/tyre combo.
Although unconfirmed by Bentley, the RS model will be powered by an uprated version of the 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 that pumps out 389kW and 680Nm in the existing 'S'.
It's believed the RS will put 410kW or more at the disposal of the driver, positioning it just shy of the heavier Continental GT W12, which ekes out 423kW.
The GT V8 S sprints from 0-100km/h in 4.3sec and can hit 310km/h, so expect the RS to improve on these figures by a small amount.
However, the bigger gains could be in the area of chassis dynamics and stopping power, as is the case with the Conti GT Speed vis-à-vis its standard W12 sibling.
As such, the V8 RS could emerge as the sportiest car in the Bentley line-up, helping further the brand's goal of pinching sales from Aston Martin, as well as the likes of the new Mercedes S63 AMG Coupe.
It's possible the Continental GT V8 RS will debut at October's Paris motor show and go on sale internationally by the end of the year.
