Mercedes-Benz released its current model W204 C-Class in early 2007, which would make the German volume seller almost three years old at the time of writing.
Could it be time for a mid-life facelift then?
New photos of the disguised car, snapped by Carparazzi, suggest that a facelift is indeed being readied at Stuttgart. These images show what the master spy photographers claim to be redesigned headlights, plus a new front apron and bonnet. The rest of the C-Class's sheet metal appears to be unchanged.
The rear end is likely to benefit from a mild redesign isolated to the brake lights, which will be unveiled when the revised C-Class is officially revealed sometime this year. And the timing is likely to be precisely measured for a launch prior to year's end. That should steal some of BMW's thunder, the Munich-based company believed to be planning the release of an all-new 3 Series before the year is out.
As well as the visual updates, the revised Mercedes C-Class is also expected to benefit from updated powerplants at most, and tweaks to its existing engine line-up at the least.
