Barely verging on qualification as an update, the 2015 Mercedes-Benz A-Class will face the world with very subtle styling revisions that are expected to be backed up by more meaningful changes inside the cabin, as well as the engine line-up.
Designed to increase interest in the compact premium car, even more meaningful is the Shooting Brake wagon version which is due for an anticipated unveiling at the LA motor show in November this year. It was reportedly seen circulating with the five-door during a recent track test session.
Engine changes for the facelifted A-Class are expected to include an even punchier engine for the A45 AMG flagship, as well as tweaks to the existing range of powerplants.
The minimal changes to both front- and rear-ends of the A-Class include the obligatory re-shaped bumpers with, at the front, a new arrangement of the lower air vents. Headlights and the basic grille shape appear to be unchanged.
The back-end changes are difficult to identify, although it’s close to a certain bet the tail-light lenses will at least be re-fashioned.
In-cabin tweaks are expected to include revised 8.0-inch tablet-style multimedia functions that will include the satellite-navigation systems, as well as changes to the instrument display and new trim materials.
Although the revised A-Class was expected to make its first official appearance at next year’s Frankfurt motor show in September, there is a chance it could sneak into the public eye a lot earlier, alongside the Shooting Brake at the LA motor show in November this year. The actual launch is nevertheless not expected before September 2015.
