BMW obviously has plenty on its to-do list at present. The design and engineering staff must be working full-tilt to develop different models for the new i brand, plus mainstream front-drive models and heaps of variations on the 3 Series theme – with varying numbers of doors and some with a boot, others with a tailgate.
So that probably explains why they left the work experience cadet to deal with the mid-life facelift of the X3. There was simply no one left available in the office to undertake the revamp, which has consequently shown up in these pics taken by spy photographers at Carparazzi. According to the spy snappers, the vehicle in the pics gives away little, because
little has changed. Cosmetic tweaks are limited to the nose and the rear bumper. The front bumper and apron have been wrapped in BMW's favoured swirl-patterned masking agent, which is also applied to the headlights and integrated indicators. Carparazzi has pointed out that the secondary air intake below the grille has been revised – and that's about as much as we can tell you for the time being. The facelifted X3 is anticipated to be unveiled in its production guise at the Geneva Motor Show, March of next year.
