SPY PICS: Facelifted 2024 Hyundai i20 N seen undisguised

Hyundai’s updated i20 N hot hatch spotted in Turkey ahead of Australian launch later this year

The facelifted 2024 Hyundai i20 N has been spotted undisguised on Turkish roads in the lead-up to its global debut and local release later this year.

Shown with only subtle design changes, the facelifted hot hatch features a new grille mesh inspired by the current-generation Hyundai Tucson SUV and a brash new set of machine-faced alloy wheels, which give passersby a better look at its track-rated braking package.

Hyundai N executive technical adviser Albert Biermann first confirmed the existence of a facelifted i20 N back in December 2022, and originally said the updated model should be ready for a mid-2023 reveal, but that did not transpire.

Biermann said the refresh would be largely cosmetic and not entail mechanical or chassis upgrades, which is exactly what we see in these images published to Instagram by user @nadiraraclar.

The fresh design cues are likely to be complemented by a minor tech update – primarily Bluelink compatibility – which should mean prices will only rise incrementally compared to the current version, which starts from $34,990 plus on-road costs.

Australia is set to become the world’s biggest i20 N and i30 N hatch market following their imminent departure from Europe.

We’re also one of the only markets in the world offering the two models side-by-side.

Hyundai Australia plans to offer the dynamic duo for as long as possible, which should equate to two or three years depending on sales and the Korean car-maker’s electrification plans.

A direct replacement for both models is looking unlikely at this stage, however internal-combustion N cars will live on with a second-generation Hyundai i30 Sedan N (Elantra N overseas) confirmed back in 2022, possibly featuring hybrid technology.
