SPY PICS: Ford Ranger facelifted

Upgraded pick-up caught on its lonesome while testing in the badlands (of Eastern Europe)
Automedia spy photographers somewhere in Eastern Europe have snapped these pictures of a pre-production Ford Ranger swathed in camouflage.
Set for global launch as a 2015 model, the updated Ranger is expected to build on the critical and commercial success of the current PX model with changes confined to cosmetic details, according to Automedia.
Designed in Australia alongside the current Mazda BT-50, the 'T6 project' Ranger is the basis for an SUV off-shoot, the Everest. And Broadmeadows remains the 'homeroom' not only for the SUV, but also for this mid-life model update of the LCV.
Automedia believes the upgraded Ranger will sport new tail lights, which don't appear in the photos, and a new frontal treatment – including new headlights. According to the spy photographers the new look for the Ranger will bring it into line with the Everest. We speculate that Ford Australia will want to establish the Everest's identity as a model in its own right – and possibly even drawing on the soft-road image of the Territory – before introducing an updated Ranger boasting similar style.
Alternatively, with the critically praised Ranger selling over 10,000 units during 2014 so far, Ford Australia may be perfectly willing to blur the line between Everest and Ranger in the minds of consumers.
