No sooner had Audi lifted the wraps off its new-generation TT at the Geneva motor show than the team at Automedia snapped these spy photos of a hotter TTS variant winter testing somewhere in the frigid far north. Giveaways to the camouflaged TT’s true identity include extended door sills, a rearranged front end with bigger air intakes, a rear lip spoiler and a revised rear bumper sprouting quad exhaust outlets.
Rumour has it that the quattro all-wheel drive TTS will employ an up-rated version of the current TTS’s 2.0 TFSI four-cylinder engine, producing as much as 225kW and at least 380Nm of torque. Today’s TTS produces 200kW/350Nm.
It is being mooted that the TTS will make its public debut at the Paris motor show in September this year. For Australia, it is far too early to speculate, although the car that underpins it, the third generation TT, is expected to arrive here early in 2015.
