SPY PICS: Jaguar F-Type RS

Leaping cat hones an even angrier version of its supercharged V8 roadster that could be known as the F-Type RS
These Automedia spy pics are an indicator of Jaguar's desire to match Mercedes AMG, Audi RS, BMW M and Porsche products blow for blow in the big-kilowatt bragging stakes.
The recently launched F-Type R Coupe was a sign that the leaping cat was finding the form needed to tackle the German heavyweights, but there's more to come from the British marque.
Pictured alongside is what's believed to be a new F-Type RS hotshoe that will up the ante over even the stove-hot F-Type R that impressed us greatly at its international launch in Spain.
The R is obviously no shrinking violet with outputs of 404kW and 680Nm, but the RS is expected to pack an even bigger wallop, with a rumoured peak power figure close to the 450kW mark.
Drive will still be relayed to the rear axle by an eight-speed automatic transmission, but the biggest challenge may well be to convert the copious power to forward motion.
The F-Type R Coupe dispatches the 0-100km/h in just over 4.0sec and tops out at 300km/h, so any improvement on this will be an impressive feat.
It's clear the RS is packing some serious hardware, with oversize carbon-ceramic stoppers and yellow calipers peeping out from behind the multispoke 20-inch alloys.
Despite being festooned with hypnotic camouflage, it's easy to make out this prototype's more aggressive front splitter, extra-large rear wing and carbonfibre-clad wing mirrors.
The car's massive grunt will be complemented by a configurable dynamics system that will enable drivers to tailor the steering, transmission, suspension and throttle settings to their liking.
As per the F-Type R Coupe, the RS roadster is expected to gain an electronic differential with torque vectoring, enabling it to slingshot out of corners more efficiently than its lesser siblings.
Although unconfirmed by Jaguar, it's believed the F-Type RS will be unleashed at October's Paris motor show, or the Los Angeles show a month later.
