SPY PICS: Lamborghini Huracan Performante Spyder

There’s little left to the imagination in these sneak pics of Lamborghini’s upcoming Huracan Performante soft-top

If you’re wondering what Lamborghini’s chopped-top version of the Huracan Performante coupe is going to look like, these two photos of a test car, painted in the signature matt-orange “Arancio Antheus” hue, provide more than a mere clue.

The almost visually-unchanged open-air variant will reportedly use the Performante coupe’s 5.2-litre Lamborghini V10, which delivers 470kW and 600Nm of torque, driving through a Haldex AWD system with a self-locking mechanical rear differential.

Claims are being made that the Spyder convertible won’t weigh a lot more than the already-light (1380kg) coupe version of the Huracan Performante. It is expected to get the ‘Aerodinamica Lamborghini Attiva’ aerodynamic system that helped the Performante coupe achieve a fastest-ever production car lap time around the Nurburgring of 6:52.01.

The Targa-style convertible roof deploys quickly: It has been quoted at 17 seconds to raise or lower – functions that can be carried out at speeds up to 45km/h.

Word is that the Huracan Performante Spyder will supplement the searingly-fast Performante coupe around the middle of the year.
