There's already a facelift on the drawing board for the Mercedes-Benz E-Class All-Terrain and coupe models, as these spy photos reveal.
That's despite the Mercedes-Benz E 220d All-Terrain wagon being on sale in Australia barely a year, and preceded by the latest E-Class Coupe by just a few months.
We're unlikely to see either body style in upgraded form before 2020, but these pre-production models have been photographed in the vicinity of the corporate headquarters for Mercedes-Benz in Stuttgart. And the camouflage ladled on in spades suggests the cosmetic changes might be a little more extensive than just a nip and tuck.
It's believed that the frontal styling will echo that of the CLS and the refreshed E-Class models may draw on infotainment technology to be introduced with the 2020 S-Class models.
Powertrains are likely to carry over from the current models, with a mix of mild-hybrid and turbo-diesels for the All-Terrain line-up, although the current All-Terrain wagon is sold in Australia exclusively as a diesel, the E 220d. By the time the All-Terrain reaches global markets, however, Mercedes-Benz may have canned diesels due to environmental reasons.
