Hiding beneath a heavy mask of all-black cladding, the facelifted Caddy has been spied by the spy photographers at Carparazzi. Intended to hide Caddy's new front, the camouflage likely covers a similar 'family' face to that now seen on Golf Mark VI, Polo Mark V and new Transporter.
The new Caddy was snapped doing some huffing and puffing through steeper sections of southern Europe's Alpine region, warm weather and a heavily laden trailer likely aimed at testing the efficiency of Caddy's cooling system beneath the new front end.
Although other new features for Caddy are guesswork at this point, it's likely more engines will be added to the range with a selection of petrol and diesel units accessible to Caddy, most likely mirroring that of the current Golf range (Golf and Caddy share familiar underpinnings).
A new interior is also expected, a remoulded dashboard, instrumentation and steering wheel possible, taking the lead from the new mobile-office arrangement found in T5 transporter.
While Australian timing for the new Caddy is still a closely guarded secret, the new pint-sized workhorse is slated for European release later this quarter. Pricing and full specifications will be revealed closer to the launch.
