It’s not that long ago (April this year, in fact) that we published undisguised photographs of the next Mercedes-Benz C-Class during winter testing in Scandinavia. Now, Automedia’s spy snappers have captured these close-up images of the next C-Class, wearing only minimal disguise, that give an even clearer view of the front, rear and side profiles, as well as some quite precise details of the two-bar grille that is the standout feature of the new front end.
Although the C-Class profile appears to be generally untouched, the new front and rear treatments will certainly give it a fresh new look. It appears to follow the themes already established in the CLA and E-Class Benz models and has a clearer visual link to the latest A-Class range.
Speculation is still rife about the drivetrain options for the new rear-drive mid-size Benz, but it is expected four-cylinder engines with cylinder deactivation will be dominant. And hybrid versions, featuring both petrol and diesel reciprocating powerplants, appear to be a virtual certainty.
The new-look C-Class is expected to launch late 2013 early 2014 in Europe, with Australia following not too far behind.
