SPY PICS: Razzle-Dazzle Range Rovers

Camouflaged Range Rover Vogue and Sport prototypes sear the retinas of onlookers

The spy photographers at Carparazzi have caught prototypes of the next Range Rover Vogue and Sport ahead of the new models' Paris debut in September.

Two years ago at the previous Paris motor show, Phil Popham, Land Rover MD, told Aussie journalists that the next Range Rover Vogue would weigh over 420kg less than the current respective model. And according to Carparazzi, Land Rover is staying that course with assistance from Jaguar, the passenger-car manufacturer taking care of the heavy lifting in the development of an all-new aluminium chassis.

However, weight reduction program aside, the new Rangie will go for greater girth for the sake of added legroom in the rear seat and extra boot space. Drivetrains will carry over, although it's understood Land Rover will introduce hybrid and plug-in variants also.

The Range Rover Sport, pictured in the really way out camo, will adopt the same lightweight chassis as the Vogue, migrating from the Discovery platform of the current model. Although it looks superficially identical to the Vogue, the Sport features different headlights and tail lights. In addition to the platform, it will also share the Vogue's diesel V8 and two petrol V8s.
