We saw the sleek Mercedes-Benz S-Class Coupe concept make its world debut at the FFrankfurt motor show in September and since then the real-deal production version has been spotted in testing.
Now our first look at the AMG version of Benz’s big, CL-replacing coupe has been captured by Automedia’s lenses – both still and video.
According to those who’ve seen it, the S-Class Coupe you see here sings the song of an AMG.
Sources say the S 63 AMG Coupe will offer more power than the S 63 AMG sedan, which packs a 430kW 5.5-litre twin-turbo V8 and arrives here as part of the all-new limousine line-up in December.
The two-door S 63 AMG should therefore muster up at least 435kW, enabling it to reach 100km/h in about four seconds.
Expect next year’s all-new S-Class Coupe to also be available with AMG’s 6.0-litre twin-turbo V12 in the top-shelf S 65 AMG Coupe.
For around $500,000, it should slam out at least 465kW and 1000Nm – enough to hit 100km/h in less than four seconds and make it quicker than the SL 65 AMG roadster.
