Ssangyong Actyon ahead for AIMS
Ssangyong Actyon 'Coupe Sports Utility' debuts at Australian motor showSsangyong will introduce its Actyon Coupe Sports Utility to the Australian public at next week's motor show in Sydney.
According to Ssangyong, the name Actyon is a synonym for 'action' and 'young'. The five-seater 4WD is aimed at the "active and young at heart" using coupe-like styling and the Kyron's big, bold face and is available in both two and four-wheel drive.
The Actyon will be offered with the 104kW/310Nn 2.0-litre turbodiesel engine from the Kryon model or a 110kW 2.3-litre four-cylinder petrol engine.
It features double wishbone front suspension and a five-link rear end. Ssangyong claims it is the only compact 4WD with ESP (Electronic Stability Program) as standard equipment.
Why 'Coupe Sports Utility'?
"It's certainly not a typical boxy four-wheel drive," says Ssangyong Australia's general manager sales and marketing, Brad Larkham. "Actyon has a very aerodynamic shape and will change people's perceptions of compact four-wheel drives. That's why we are calling it a Coupe Sport Utility."
The Actyon CSU five-door will be joined by a dual-cab ute version scheduled for showrooms next year.
