Stunning Porsche GT is the ultimate automotive fusion

Ferrari, Datsun and 1970s design cues blend with Porsche engineering to create the perfect retro ride

What is the most beautiful sports car ever made? This contentious question has been asked and fiercely debated for decades now and there are plenty of genuine contenders for the title, especially from Italy and Japan.

Germany meantime has delivered some of the world's best and most capable offerings, so what would happen if you combined 1970s Italian and Japanese design with German engineering to deliver a new front-engine sports car?

The answer is simply breathtaking and has us searching for the nearest kidney donation centre.

Blending elements of Ferrari Daytona and GT models with the stunning stance of the classic Datsun Zs and adding just a pinch of Stuttgart, these jaw-dropping renders imagine what a retro-inspired Porsche GT might look like in 2025.

Porsche hasn’t offered a front-engine coupe for 30 years – since the 928 and 968 – as it continues to pioneer the rear-engine layout of the 911, but it could definitely be time for the formidable performance brand to look into a GT car revival, especially if it has the potential to look like this creation from Turbo Treasury.

“We imagined what would have happened if an Italian designer had headed to Germany, via Japan in search of inspiration,” the creator said.

“This mash up of Porsche, Nissan (Datsun) and Ferrari brings together the style of the late 70s showcasing Italian and Japanese indulgence.”

Resto-mods are all the rage at the moment and have been for quite some time, but while a growing number of brands are releasing retro-inspired models, few of them look genuinely classic or era-appropriate.

We know there’s next to no chance of this beautiful coupe ever coming to life, let alone via Porsche, so all we can do, sadly, is sit and daydream about how epic the combination of that design with the sonorous heart of a 911 GT3 or muscular Cayenne S would be to drive, especially with a manual transmission.

Dear Porsche…
