Subaru retail offers continue

Subaru is aggressively targeting sales -- the latest offer a specced-up Forester

Subaru Australia has started off the 2006 sales race with an aggressive program of limited edition 'special' models. The latest based on the Forester compact SUV is claimed to deliver $3750 in savings to buyers.

Dubbed the Forester X Luxury, the car is based on the 121kW naturally-apirated 2.5-litre flat-four Forester X. However, the Luxury gets extra features such as sunroof, rear spoiler, heavily tinted rear windows and interior leather trim.

Available in white, regal blue and silver, the five-speed manual all-wheel drive wagon is priced from $33,990 -- $2000 up on the standard fare Forester X. Subaru says the extra equipment is valued at an estimated $5750 -- hence the $3750 saving.

Subaru will offer 1000 Forester X Luxury models during January and February. An auto version is also offered prced from $35,990.

Nick Senior, Managing Director, Subaru Australia, said: “Forester distinguished itself in 2005 as the best-selling Compact Sports Utility Vehicle. We want to celebrate that milestone with a special edition that underlines Forester’s huge popularity.”

Subaru sold 12,320 Foresters in 2005 -– a record for the model in Australia.
