Details follow the announcement in early August that Subaru would offer a limited run of Spec 9 models and a 'multi-mode' engine management system on the new Liberty and its high-spec derivatives (more here).
Priced at $44,490, the Spec 9 package includes chassis, driveline, exterior and interior upgrades to the Impreza WRX.
New 18-inch wheels and tyres are offered with the STI suspension kit, which lowers the car by 15mm. Handling has also been refined through an increased spring rate and a lower centre of gravity.
Subaru says aerodynamic efficiency is enhanced with the addition of an STI front lip spoiler, which is made of a tough but lightweight material and improves both stability and cornering.
The Spec 9 also features short-shift gear lever with a more rigid and direct shift feeling, incorporating reinforced bushes, a shortened shifting stroke and STI aluminium shift knob.
Inside the Spec 9 gets leather trim and an electric sunroof fitted as standard, while outside a unique CS9 Club Spec grille badge has been designed for this special edition vehicle.
Nick Senior, Managing Director, Subaru Australia said: "This Club Spec is our best yet. It delivers enormous customer value and it will be a very quick seller."
Only 300 vehicles will be sold and are available as a manual sedan in WR Blue or Obsidian Black, on sale now.
