Subaru WRX, STI and Levorg updated for MY19

Performance models gain infotainment and driver-assist features for new model year

A light upgrade of the respective equipment lists for the Subaru Levorg and Subaru WRX and STI models for the 2019 model year introduces new active safety and infotainment gadgetry.

All three models now offer Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity as standard, across the range. Digital Radio (DAB+) is also standard for all variants and the infotainment screen is larger, now measuring 6.5 inches for standard models, or 7.0 inches when satellite navigation is installed.

The new infotainment setup is a 'Gen 3.1' system, according to the manufacturer. Satellite navigation is now an OTA ('Over The Air') type of system, for mapping and software updates, and vehicles equipped with satnav also feature new quick-charge USB ports that are suitable for recharging tablet devices.

Subaru's EyeSight system has been improved for models with continuously variable transmission. The system now detects the presence of pedestrians and cyclists earlier, and now issues an audible alarm if the system cancels active cruise control or lane keep assist if the vehicle is operating outside of safe parameters – ie: at excessive speeds.

Finally, the Levorg STI Sport now features chrome inserts for the door handles and black inserts for the steering wheel. Exterior colour Ice Silver is no longer available.
