The original Blue Mountains party palace will be host to a fleet of supercars and vintage classics on the weekend of November 28 and 29.
The Hydro Majestic Car Rally will feature modern supercars along with vintage (and possibly veteran) cars on displays and offering joy rides.
Some of the older brands expected to roll into the hotel's car park will include Buick, Ford and Vauxhall, along with the more modern examples of Porsche, Maserati, Ferrari, Lamborghini and more.
Located on the Great Western Highway enroute to the Eastern Creek and Bathurst racetracks, the Hydro Majestic is a luxurious pit stop, known for being "a little racy, a bit naughty and outrageous."
According to Australian ambassador for Audi, Ralf Bruegger, the original owner of the hotel, Mark Foy, was a huge car enthusiast and started the idea of driving cars up the Great Western Highway.
"Retailer Mark Foy was a huge car enthusiast and drove one of the first cars up the Great Western Highway to the hotel at Medlow Bath," he said.
During a snow storm over a hundred years ago, Mr Foy hosted a group of guests who arrived at Penrith by train.
Mr Foy had a fleet of motor cars waiting to drive them to the cliff top hotel in the upper mountains.
Completely enamoured with the motor car, Foy then started Australia's first motoring touring business, travelling from Blackheath to the Jenolan Caves of the Blue Mountains.
The trip was taken in two 9hp De Dion cars, which were petrol-powered, and seated six people in each vehicle.
A report of this journey from the Sydney Daily Telegraph of September 29, 1903, reads: "...and so far they have given every satisfaction, doing the journey in about three hours and a half.
"The visitors were entertained by Mr. Mark Foy, who is an enthusiastic patron of the sport of motoring, at his residence at Medlow, and great interest was taken by them in the preparations being made there for the erection of an elaborate hotel and hydropathic establishment."
The Hydro Majestic was originally opened as the Hydropathic Establishment on July 4, 1904, and recently relaunched last October after a "sumptuous refurbishment."
Mr Bruegger claims that the Hydro Majestic car rally will feature some of the most desirable cars in the world.
"Seeing Lamborghinis and Ferraris in our car park is not unusual for us," he said.
"We will have dozens of the fastest, meanest and sexiest cars that have ever been on the road."
