The 2026 Suzuki eVitara has been detailed – but not yet priced – for Australia, where it’ll be on sale by June as the Japanese car-maker’s first mass-produced electric vehicle (EV).

Sporting a distinct new look compared to the petrol-powered Vitara small SUV it’ll sell alongside, the all-new eVitara rides on the brand’s HEARTECT-e architecture, co-developed with Toyota.
That makes the electric Vitara slightly larger compared to its internal combustion engine (ICE) cousin in every key dimension, measuring up at 4275mm long, 1800mm wide and 1635mm high, on a 2700mm wheelbase.
Available in two grades, the entry-level Motion will come powered by a single e-motor mounted to the front axle producing 106kW/193Nm, mated to a 49kWh lithium-ion battery to deliver up to 344km of driving range.

Standard features include 18-inch alloy wheels, auto headlights with high beam assist, rain-sensing wipers, single zone climate control, fabric seats, a four-speaker audio system, and a leather-wrapped steering wheel.
A 10.1-inch central touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto will feature alongside a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster for the driver.
The flagship Ultra gains an electric 4x4 system dubbed ALLGRIP-e, with dedicated off-road modes, as well as a larger 61kWh battery pack good for a claimed 395km, and a peppier 135kW/307Nm dual-motor powertrain.

Top-spec Ultra grades add a glass roof with shade, adaptive high beams, wireless phone charging, an Infinity sound system with subwoofer, leather-appointed and fabric upholstery with heated front seats.
Both variants will charge from 10 to 80 per cent in a claimed 45 minutes (DC rapid charging), while 11kW AC charging from 10 to 100 per cent will take approximately 4.5 and 5.5hrs for the Motion and Ultra, respectively.
Every grade will become equipped with seven airbags, autonomous emergency braking (AEB), lane keep assist, adaptive cruise control, blind spot monitoring, front and rear parking sensors and forward collision warning.
Pricing will be announced closer to the eVitara’s local arrival, where the compact electric SUV will go up against rivals like the BYD Atto 3 and Kia EV3, among others.
