If you're looking for a new compact SUV with a cheeky new design that won't break the bank, the new Suzuki Ignis with an auto transmission could fit the bill, and is expected to be priced from $19,990 drive-away.
The car's price of $20,000, including on-road costs, was inadvertently released ahead of its official launch in January 2017 via a competition to win the car.
Hidden within the terms and conditions of the competition are the details of the prize, a Suzuki Ignis which is pegged at $21,750 in total. The breakdown is an Ignis with automatic transmission ($20,000), accessories ($750) and metallic paint ($1000).
Entry-level pricing could be even lower if a manual transmission is available, possibly going as low as $17,000 excluding on-road costs.
The Suzuki competition also reveals colour options, five in total: Mineral Grey, Pure White, Fervent Red, Neon Blue and the hero colour, Flame Orange. Like the new Toyota C-HR compact SUV owners can choose different roof, wing mirror, and alloy wheel accent colours.
The interiors will be customisable too, with red, blue, orange or grey accents on the air vents, centre console and inside door trims.
Engine options for the Suzuki Ignis overseas include 1.0- and 1.2-litre petrol units and even a mild hybrid version, but Australian powertrain details are yet to be revealed.
