Suzuki is the latest mainstream auto brand to announce a five-year, unlimited-km factory warranty, and has also extended its capped-price service program.
The Japanese brand’s new five-year warranty replaces its previous three-year, 100,000km warranty and matches those offered by its key rivals except Kia, which has had a seven-year, unlimited-km warranty since 2014.
Hyundai was the first brand to offer a five-year warranty in Australia, in 1999, and was followed by Mitsubishi in 2004, Honda in 2017, Volkswagen, Mazda, Holden and Ford in 2018 and Subaru, Toyota and Nissan this year.
Prior to October 1, Suzuki offered a five-year warranty only to vehicles serviced within its own dealer network.
At the same time, Suzuki has extended its capped-price service intervals from six months to 12 months/15,000km for non-turbo models and 12 months/10,000km for turbo models.
Like Suzuki’s warranty, the CPS program is fully transferable to subsequent owners, but in this case extends only to five years or 100,000km (whichever comes first).
