Suzuki Australia has set a date for the Kizashi's arrival in Australia, confirming that it will launch its mid-sized vehicle here in May.
Best known as a small-car company, Suzuki is about to dive into the mid-sized market segment with the Kizashi, a car that Suzuki Australia's General Manager, Tony Devers, says will rival the Honda Accord Euro, Toyota Camry and even some Audi A4 variants.
Two spec levels will be offered, initially in front-wheel drive guises, and Devers was hopeful of bringing all-wheel drive models here later in the year. Power for the Suzuki Kizashi will come from a 2.4-litre four-cylinder petrol engine outputting roughly 138kW/230Nm and overseas tests suggest zero to 100km/h sprint times of around 7.5 seconds for front-wheel drive versions.
Devers wouldn't be drawn on pricing for the new Kizashi mid-sized sedan, but insisted it would be competitive. He said the Kizashi would bring new types of customers in Suzuki dealerships and had the potential to deliver increased sales across its range as a result of the new clientele.
