The next-generation Mercedes-Benz CLA will be revealed at the 2019 Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas next month, it's been confirmed.
Previewed by a single shadowy teaser image showing the 2019 Mercedes-Benz CLA's familiar coupe-like roofline, the A-Class based four-door will go head-to-head with two all-new rivals -- BMW's 2 Series Gran Coupe and the rumoured Audi A3 four-door coupe.
Already spotted testing last month, the next CLA will once again be offered in swoopy sedan and more stylish Shooting Brake wagon body styles.
When it debuts early next year, the new Mercedes-Benz CLA will share its powertrain with the rest of the A-Class range, including the 225kW/400Nm turbocharged 2.0-litre four-cylinder that stars under the bonnet of the new A 35 4MATIC hatch.
Meanwhile, the even more powerful CLA 45 sports sedan (and the next A 45 hot hatch), are expected to come with more than 300kW and feature the German car-maker's advanced 48-volt mild-hybrid technology.
Inside, the 2019 CLA's cabin will share much with the 2018 A-Class and come with the innovative MBUX infotainment system.
The new sedan goes on sale in Europe during the second quarter of 2019 and it's rumoured the CLA Shooting Brake will follow around six months after the sedan arrives.
It's not yet been confirmed when the new CLA will arrive Down Under, but it's likely before the end of 2019.
As well as new rivals from other brands, the CLA will also have new opposition internally when Benz decides to launch the A-Class sedan that majors on space, rather than sporty styling.
That said, Mercedes-AMG has already been spotted testing an A 35 sedan in Germany.
