Motorsport enthusiasts will descend on Sydney Motorsport Park on the Queen's Birthday long weekend for the running of the 2016 Sydney Retro Racefest.
Organisers anticipate more than 250 race cars – including tourers, sports cars and open-wheelers – will be on display, and taking to the track. Fans of the great race at Mount Panorama will particularly enjoy the heritage touring cars of 'Legends of Bathurst'.
Among the Group C and Group A cars present will be Nissan GT-R, Ford Sierra RS500 and the usual pantheon of Ford and Holden examples – bearing the names of Brock, Johnson, Moffat and Richards.
Open wheelers such as F5000s, F1, Formula Ford and Formula Vee will be there, familiar icons from the past 50 years of motor sport history. They'll also be joined by Groups Q, R and S sports cars, plus Group N muscle cars.
Passes are available for access to pits and paddock too. Admission to the event, held on June 11-12, costs $45 at the gate for both days and $25 concession.
