TARGA: motoring's Megane takes fastest Showroom time in Prologue

Known as Leg Zero, Prologue takes in the twisty, narrow 6.98km Kayena stage before the teams descend upon George Town, for the region’s traditional town stage. Here, George Town residents are treated to the sight, sound, and in some cases smell of the Targa field as the cars literally pass by tenant’s front doors.
Although not officially competitive, the times taken from Leg Zero ‘seed’ the Targa crews, determining the starting order for Wednesday’s Leg One.
In the 2WD Showroom class, motoring’s Mike Sinclair and co-driver Bill Hayes were quickest, with team-mates Grant Denyer and Dale Moscatt second in another Walkinshaw Performance-prepared Megane.
“Today offered a chance for us to get to know the Megane in competition conditions, and to say ‘thank you’ to the fans at the George Town Prologue. We’re happy with the way the car feels, but it’s tomorrow where the times really matter,” explained Sinclair.
The team now prepares for Wednesday, which takes in eight competitive stages over a loop to the west and north-west of Launceston.
