The 2010 Targa Tasmania has concluded. You can read the results elsewhere, but here's how the Team Skoda Carsales Octavia RS-P fared on its final day of competition.
Despite the weather -- streaming wet conditions -- on Day Five, the Team Skoda Carsales Octavia RS-P finished 20th outright. The unlikely tarmac rally weapon was the fastest front-wheel drive in Modern. Two GT3 Porsches, the Skelta and a Z06 Corvette were the only two-wheel drive cars in the category to finish ahead of the Skoda.
The result was a good one for what amounts to an auto family wagon and if it had been dry on the final day, the TSC Octavia could have finished one or two positions further up in the field.
Unlike the day before, the final competitive day (Sunday) inclement weather hampered traction and the rain was so poor that at times, the crew couldn't even see.
If the Skoda had competed in Showroom, it would have placed sixth and finished the second front-wheel drive car. And if that's not a testament to the car's capability -- and its professional crew -- we don't know what is.
Footage of the Team Skoda Carsales crew in action has been uploaded to Carsales.TV, our new portal for video news and features. Switch to the Team Skoda Carsales channel and watch the team pit their skills against competitors and the clock.
