Tata announces run-out deals

Tata Motors Australia has unveiled a run-out deal on its MY14 Xenon LCV, with thousands slashed from the regular recommended retail price

Until December 31, Tata Motors Australia is offering special run-out deals on remaining stock of its 2014-spec Xenon ute, with thousands of dollars slashed from the regular price of its single cab/chassis, single-cab pick-up and dual-cab pick-up variants in both 4x2 and 4x4 formats.

As an example, the promotion sees Tata's MY14 single-cab pick-up and MY14 dual-cab pick-up priced at $16,990 and $23,990 respectively, drive away. By way of comparison, the MY15 iterations of those variants are priced at $22,990 and $28,990 respectively, drive-away.

All versions of Tata's Xenon are powered by the Indian manufacturer's Euro 5-compliant 2.2-litre four-cylinder turbo-diesel, said to produce 110kW and 320Nm. Tata quotes an ADR combined cycle fuel economy figure of just 7.4L/100km for the Xenon (topping the Government's Green Vehicle Guide for LCVs), along with payloads ranging from 880-1080kg and a 2500kg towing capacity.

The MY14 Xenons don't benefit from electronic stability control, which recently saw MY15 dual-cab models go from a two-star to a four-star ANCAP safety rating.

Tata says the Xenon represents excellent value in the sub-$30,000 LCV ute segment, and while the ute is targeting tradies and agricultural workers it still comes with a long list of creature comforts.

Those niceties including air-conditioning, power windows, remote central locking, immobiliser and more, while dual-cab models also benefit from standard inclusions such as satellite navigation and a reversing camera.

Launched in October 2013, the company behind Tata Motors Australia is Fusion Automotive – a part of the Walkinshaw Performance Group. According to the CEO of Fusion Automotive, Darren Bowler, the MY14 run-out promotion is sure to catch canny buyers' eyes.

"The Xenon is renowned for its performance and generous equipment levels in the $20-30K LCV segment and these run-out prices represent unrivalled value," he said.

The Xenon range is covered by Tata's Tough Cover program, which combines a four-year/100,000km factory warranty with four years of roadside assistance and a four-year/60,000km cappedprice servicing schedule.
