In response to customer feedback, the all-electric Tesla Roadster has been upgraded this month bringing new looks, more colours, increased interior comfort and amenity plus new power control hardware to the sporty EV.
"These improvements are a direct result of customer feedback and come only a year after the release of Roadtser 2.0, showing an exceptionally rapid pace of innovation," explained Tesla CEO, Elon Musk.
Specifically, the list of improvements include a revised front fascia, more supportive seats, upgraded power control hardware for better performance in hotter climates, and an optional reversing camera with seven-inch touchscreen. The new look also adds subtle revisions to the rear diffuser, and a new line of alloy wheels.
Tesla unveiled the new look Roadster earlier this week at both its Newport Beach (USA) and Copenhagen (Denmark) showrooms, the latest outlets in the brand's on-going expansion. Tesla now boasts a worldwide network of 13 dealerships, most in environmentally-savvy hotspots.
"We are thrilled that customers in Denmark and throughout Scandinavia have embraced not only the Roadster but the core business philosophy of Tesla Motors," said Cristiano Carlutti, Tesla's Vice President for European Sales and Operations.
Performance figures remain basically unchanged: The Roadster is capable of 0-60mph (96.78km/h) times of just 3.7 seconds while also achieving a 550 kilometre range from a single charge.
The Tesla Roadster 2.5 is priced from USD$101,500 with US customers receiving a $7,500 federal tax credit on their purchase. Californian customers receive a further CARB rebate of $5,000 for electric vehicles purchased or leased.
