Tesla has confirmed a leak detailing the full-spec of its all-new Model 3 is genuine after posting said information on its official retail website.
The leak, said to have come from an insider, was confirmed yesterday as genuine and reveals that the small Model 3 will measure in at 4684mm - 294mm shorter than its big brother, the Model S.
The pure-electric rival to the BMW 3 Series will also take a brisk 5.6 seconds to reach 97km/h (60mph) but the biggest news is the confirmation the Model 3 will come with a range of more than 215 miles (346km) - around 35 miles (56km) less than Model S P75.
Other interesting facts about the Model 3 is it will come with a 396-litre boot, which is small for the segment.
Inside, instead of the Model S' huge 17-inch portrait-mounted touchscreen the Model 3 will come with a, still large, 15-inch display that will sit in a landscape formation.
The early information also reveals there will be significantly less choice when ordering the final specification of your car. While a Model S owner can have more than 1500 configurations at their fingertips there's less than 100 possible ways to order your Model 3.
Finally, while there's less than 30 days' wait for a Model S in the US, Tesla admits you'll have to wait more than 12 months for your Model 3 to arrive if you order today.
Tesla hasn't released its list of 'premium features' for the Model 3 yet but they're thought to include an advance air con filtration system, panoramic roof and larger wheels.
It's already been announced that the Model 3 won't be granted free access to the car maker's network of superchargers, and pricing is expected to start in Australia at around $65,000.
After the Model 3, Tesla plans to release a Model Y SUV, an all-electric delivery van, a large people mover and even, potentially, a ute.
