So Myer is selling Tesla cars now? Not quite.
You may have heard that Myer has a Tesla Model X electric SUV displayed on the sixth floor in its flagship Melbourne store on Bourke Street Mall.
But before you can say "where else will Tesla start selling its car?!" the company told motoring.com.au this morning that the Tesla Model X is for display only, and is a temporary or 'pop-up' display.
Tesla explained that there was no collaboration or partnership with Myer, as some media have reported.

In a statement the company said: "Tesla doesn't do partnerships, globally or locally. But we like foot traffic and the Myer retail display creates more opportunity for new buyers to see our products."
As well as the Model X, the Tesla display will include a design studio on site to make it look pretty, and a Tesla employee as well. Test drives will not be available, nor will any merchandise be offered and Tesla says the pop-up is "temporary".
Shoppers can order a car from Myer but all transactions will occur through Tesla.

Pricing for the new Tesla Model X 100D model starts at $159,900, excluding luxury car tax. The price varies according the state you buy it in, but don't expect much change from $200,000.
The electric car maker currently sells the Model S sedan and Model X SUV in Australia and doesn't have traditional dealerships. Instead it has showrooms within which prospective buyers can examine the car and book in test drive.
At the moment Tesla also has pop-up displays in some Westfield shopping malls, and a test drive facility at NEXT Hotel in Brisbane.
