If you’ve ever walked down the centre aisle of the discount retailer you will be familiar with most random products to ever be on sale in a supermarket from ski gear, to garden gnomes and even 4K TVs. When the latest Aldi catalogue arrived in our letterbox this week though, the car and garage equipment piqued our interest. Especially for a product that our car doors have been craving for years.
Absorbent sponges to stop passengers (and kids, let's be honest) banging the car door into the wall and damaging the paint! We have previously spoken about clever DIY ways to make your garage scratch proof, so this ready to buy version is an interesting prospect. And of course, it is the Germans that think of a clever and practical way to protect our cars from garage prangs and the reckless passenger and car door relationship.
The Protect-a-Door foam sponges, according to the catalog can be used on garage walls or pillars to protect car doors from bumps or scratches. They come in two different sizes to suit your vehicle and garage space. They’re on sale for $14.99 from Saturday October 5.
No word on whether these foam sponges can be used to fully encase your learner driver’s car when they go out into the world to try and master their parking skills though.
