Lamborghini has teamed up with an Italian luxury boat builder to create a stunning on-water version of the Lamborghini Sian FKP 37 hybrid super sports car.
The Tecnomar for Lamborghini 63 is a long, low and stylish James Bond worthy boat that will be available to own from next year. It takes just about all its styling cues from the 350km/h-plus hybrid hypercar which has recently been immortalized in LEGO form.
Not surprisingly, this is a high-performance boat that looks like a high-performance boat from the front and a Lamborghini Sian FKP 37 from the rear. The level of detail as you hove in behind it, right down to how it incorporates the Sian’s triple geodesic tail-lights in particular, is remarkable.
Luxury superyacht maker The Italian Sea Group, which worked with Lamborghini’s Centro Stile design studio, has equipped the Tecnomar for Lamborghini 63 with engines that produce almost 3000kW of performance. That’s like packing five 6.5-litre V12-engined Lamborghini Sians in behind you.
Automobili Lamborghini chief executive Stefano Domenicali said the Tecnomar for Lamborghini 63 had adopted the best of both worlds.
“If I had to imagine a Lamborghini on water, this would be my vision,” he said. “I’m delighted to celebrate this successful collaboration.”
All the classic Lamborghini cues are there, from the lightweight carbon-fibre construction making up its swept profile and the road car’s coupe-like hardtop.
“The hull and the superstructure are created from a high-performance shell, developed by naval engineers specialising in hydrodynamic sciences,” Lamborghini said.
“They interpret the design lines, created by Marcello Gandini in the Miura and the Countach of the 1960s and ’70s, in a contemporary way.
“The hardtop is inspired by Lamborghini roadsters; providing sun and wind protection while guaranteeing an outstanding aerodynamic performance.
“The bow lights are an homage to the Lamborghini concept car Terzo Millennio and to the Sián FKP 37, both distinctive for their Y-shaped front lights.”
Even behind the driver’s seat, this thing is something special.
“The motor yacht’s instrument panel interprets the car cockpit in a nautical style, completely integrating all navigation and control systems,” Lamborghini said.
“As in Lamborghini super sports cars, details are finished in carbon fibre, with Lamborghini’s Carbon Skin used in the sports seats and on the helm, styled as the super sports car’s steering wheel.
“The unmistakable start/stop button, (two, one for each engine) are exactly the same used to start a Lamborghini engine.”
The Tecnomar for Lamborghini 63 is the fastest boat ever made to wear the Tecnomar name. Only 63 will be built, and each will wear a price tag of around $4.3 million.
The longing looks from everyone else who’s out on the water as you cruise past come for free.
