The monster of family fun motorsport action is back in Australia

Monster Jam’s action-packed, family-friendly motorsport madness is set to return to Melbourne and Sydney this October for two days only!

Celebrating the 30th anniversary of Monster Jam, spectators can marvel as the 4.5-tonne Monster Jam trucks compete in Freestyle, Skills and Racing events on Saturday 1 October at AAMI Park in Melbourne and 8 October at Accor Stadium, Sydney.

Watch Brandon Vinson’s Grave Digger, Colt Stephens’ Max D, Armando Castro’s El Toro Loco and Tristan England’s Megalodon defy physics as drivers put their mega trucks to the test – high-flying stunts, backflips, donuts and vertical two-wheel tricks? All in a day’s work… with a little help from a five-point harness.

Got a favourite? Help choose the winner in a dusty adrenalin-pumping showdown via real-time, in-stadium fan voting.

Need more? Pay more. The Monster Jam Pit Party lets fans see the mammoth trucks up close, meet drivers and the crew, get autographs, monster selfies and more.

Stretching over 3.0-metres tall, 3.6m wide and 5m long Monster Truck is not your average agile four-wheeler. A steel safety structure wrapped in custom-built fibreglass is powered by a supercharged methanol-fuelled engine generating 1500hp and four-link racing suspension wrangles the 66-inch (43-inch wide) tyres. Each wheel alone weighs around 292kg!

Isn’t it time you watched world-class men and women go head-to-head in some seriously loud, super-sized trucks?

Need to brush up on your Monster Truck terminology before taking the family along to the show? Here's a helpful Monster Truck glossary from Monster Jam so you can be a pro spectator in no time.

  • BACKFLIP: When the truck does a complete 360-degree flip from a vertical obstacle
  • BIG AIR: Monster Jam trucks can launch up to 30 feet into the air and travel more than 130 feet. Prepare for lift-off!
  • DONUT: Spinning a Monster Jam truck in circles in one spot
  • CYCLONE: Similar to a Donut, but done at a higher speed
  • POGO: The Monster Jam truck bounces on the rear tyres while standing up into a wheelie
  • POWER OUT: When a driver uses a burst of acceleration to keep the truck from rolling over
  • SKY WHEELIE: When a Monster Jam truck stands straight up at a 90-degree angle with the front tyres in the air
  • SLAP WHEELIE: When the front of the Monster Jam truck comes down and slaps itself back into a wheelie
  • STOPPIE: When the truck noses onto its front wheels, leaving the rear wheels in the air. Many drivers will put the truck in reverse and "moonwalk" it.
  • WALK IT: A one-wheeled wheelie that rocks back and forth between the two rear tyres
  • WHEELIE: Lifting the front wheels of the truck off the ground and driving only on the rear wheels
  • BURNOUT: Spinning the tyres to clear the mud off for optimum traction
  • CASE IT: Hit the lowest part of the truck’s frame on the peak of the obstacle
  • CUT TYRES: Shaving the tread off the tyres for more traction and less weight. The process, done by hand, can take as much as 50 hours per tyre.
  • DRY HOP: Doing a burnout to clear the starting line of loose debris
  • ENDO: When a vehicle rolls end over end
  • EYEBALL THE TRACK: Drivers and crew members walk around the track to get an idea of the obstacles and how to plan their runs
  • HAMMER: The throttle
  • HOLESHOT: Being the first vehicle off the starting line; getting an immediate advantage over an opponent
  • HOOK UP: Get enough traction for faster acceleration
  • HOT SHOE: A top driver
  • MASH THE THROTTLE: Step hard on the accelerator
  • RED LIGHT: Leave the starting line before the light turns green, resulting in disqualification
  • STAGED: Ready to start an event
