The search for the Hottest Pie Hundred pie-related songs for summer returns

Is there anything more Aussie than a summer road trip playlist with the theme of pies? These tasty tunes will satisfy your summer appetite for sure.

Are you looking for a new road trip playlist to keep you going on your long drives this summer break that is not only nostalgic but is a bit tasty? Never fear, the definitive list is here.

Tassie pie company, National Pies has curated a Spotify playlist of 100 tasty pie tunes as part of its annual Hottest Pie Hundred competition ahead of National Pie Day on Tuesday 23 January 2024.

They've also put the call out for music and pie lovers to vote for the most pie-tastic tune of 2024. Voting for your favourite pie-related track from the official playlist will give you a chance to win 100 National Pies and 100 cans of Tassie beer.

The ultimate prize pack also includes some special National Pies gear; perfect for any Hottest Pie Hundred party, along with the essentials.

Pie-related songs include classics like Don McLean’s American Pie and Warrant’s Cherry Pie, to The Wiggles' version of Neil Diamond’s Porcupine Pie and even includes Australian country music legend Rex Dallas’ Australian Hot Meat Pie. Some newer takes on the pie theme include Megan Thee Stallion and Dua Lipa's Sweetest Pie, BTS' Pied Piper and Travis Scott's track Apple Pie.

National Pies CEO Geraldine Tebbutt says there’s plenty of excitement around this year’s playlist and competition.

“We have a very exciting new playlist, which is bigger and better, because all 100 songs are
eligible for voting,” Geraldine said.

“Lots of fans out there really enjoy listening to our Hottest Pie Hundred playlist at a backyard barbeque or on a road trip – it’s an Aussie staple for pie fans.

“Of course, people love to hear the classic pie songs, but it’s also fun to discover more unique tunes and learn how many songs about pies actually exist.”

Who will wear the Hottest Pie Hundred crown this year? Could it be Maddona with her '90s classic American Pie, or will the excitement of the AFL Grand Final win roll over to a win for the Collingwood Magpies Football Club theme song?

You can enter through National Pies’ Instagram or Facebook page. After following
National Pies on Instagram and Facebook and tagging two friends, a link will be provided to vote for the tastiest pie tune. Unlimited voting is open from now until Friday 19 January 2024 for Australian residents aged 18 years or older.

2024’s Hottest Pie Song and the winner of the competition will be announced on Tuesday 23 January at 10am AEST across all socials.
