Hundreds of different makes and models are sold in global car markets. Break down each car by all the elements that distinguish it, and you have permutations numbering in the millions.
So what happens if all that data were to be represented by just 100 cars?
It’s a difficult and interesting question that few people have probably ever pondered. But NeoMam Infographic Agency has narrowed the characteristics down to colour, maker, fuel type, region, transmission and fuel type.
White is said to be the popular choice of colour, with 23 per cent of the hypothetical cars coated in the conservative yet inoffensive hue. Japanese manufacturers are said to be accountable for 29 per cent of all cars.
Asian factories are hypothesised as being the biggest producer of cars, with 54 out of the 100 car fleet rolling off production lines based in Asia. Moreover, Asia is slated to be the biggest consumer of cars, consuming 42 per cent of production.
Perhaps most bizarrely, the data indicates that 54 cars sold would be manual and petrol is the favourite fuel type, with 43 out of 100 running on unleaded.
Can you guess which would be the most popular car in the world without looking at the infographic?
