This latest collaboration between Toyota, LEGO and LEGOLAND Japan is to commemorate the 35th anniversary of the launch of the first Toyota Supra and what better way to celebrate than recreating the latest GR Supra in plastic bricks!
The LEGO Toyota GR Supra full-scale replica has been unveiled at LEGOLAND Japan where the public can get up close and personal with it until mid-October. The bright yellow GR Supra replica has been made using 477,303 LEGO bricks over 2,400 hours and has been immaculately recreated not only on the exterior but in the interior as well, right down to the seats and rear-view mirror.
To make it as authentic as possible, there are even real Supra parts installed including the badges and logos, the headlights and even the steering wheel. The icing on the cake is the addition of an electric motor that is used for commercial purposes utilised for the first time in the history of the LEGO brand. Meaning the LEGO Supra can drive up to a maximum speed of 28 km/h.
While not as race fit as the original, the replica weighs in at 1885kg which is 245kg more than the real thing. It is also 17.5cm wider and 3cm shorter too.
The LEGO Toyota GR Supra full-scale replica is also set to appear at various race venues in Japan to continue the anniversary celebrations. The Supra joins an esteemed lineup of cars that have been given the full-scale LEGO replica treatment over the years which includes the also driveable Bugatti Chiron, Volkswagen Kombi, Honda Civic Type R and the Toyota Camry.
