Australian tuner Tickford has announced three new Power Packs specially designed for the limited-edition Ford Mustang Bullitt.
The fabled Highland Green icon was reprised in Australia last year with the release of 700 examples from the Detroit Ford factory, marking the first time the Mustang Bullitt had been officially imported into Australia.
The allocation was quickly snapped up, but that hasn’t stopped Tickford from bringing its own modifications to the table.
Three respective Power Packs are available. At $2750, the first brings a naturally-aspirated ECU recalibration, Tickford individual build number, Tickford Enhanced badge and three-year/100,000km Tickford driveline warranty.
The second option costs $3729 and adds all the contents from option one along with 25mm lowered suspension and a 12-month/20,000km Tickford parts warranty.
Finally, the third and most extensive option costs $7249 and adds all the contents from options one and two, plus 20-inch black Tickford wheels (pictured in main photo) and Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tyres.
All told, Tickford says its Power Packs increase power between 10 and 15 per cent (without quoting a figure) and “improve overall performance of the Mustang and driveability”.
Tickford says it wishes to play on the appeal of the original Mustang Bullitt made famous by Steve McQueen, without diluting its authenticity.
“Ford designers have reimagined the legendary Bullitt in classic Dark Highland Green paint, with a distinguished chrome surrounds on the grille and windows. Inside, a white cue-ball gear knob reminds the driver they are at the control of a 5.0-litre V8 which hosts larger 87 mm throttle bodies, producing 345kW of power and 556Nm of torque,” the tuner said.
“With these factory changes in mind and being conscious of the Bullitt's heritage, Tickford has been careful not to break the authenticity and look of the legend, to provide three options to customers to modify their Bullitt.”
