Tickford releases Australian-tuned Mustang suspension

New package purportedly delivers sharper handling, without overly affecting ride quality

Australian performance tuner Tickford has released a new suspension package for the Ford Mustang.

Building on personalisation options already available for both the GT and EcoBoost models, the go-fast division’s new Tickford Mustang Sport Suspension Package looks to bolster the dynamic acumen of Ford’s pony car without detracting from ride comfort.

The kit brings a 25mm lower ride height, monotube strut coil-over front suspension and monotube dampers and springs at the rear. The package was developed and tuned in Australia and retails for $3990 including fitment and a 12-month product warranty.

“We have invested considerable time and resources into perfecting a ride and handling package that is specifically tuned for Australian roads,” Tickford boss Tim Edwards said.

“Customers kept telling us they wanted to achieve a lowered stance but didn’t want to compromise on ride quality and handling, a tough ask that our development team relished.

“The result of their hard work is a suspension tune that retains manufacturer levels of ride quality while improving the driving dynamics in real world situations from the twisty roads of the Australian alpine region to bumpy suburban city streets, making it a great all round package.”

Tickford has also announced a new leather interior package for the Mustang. Retailing for $4490, the ‘Tickford Mustang Interior Package’ purportedly improves the seat padding in the factory-supplied seats to increase comfort.

The OEM-spec leather replaces the factory trim and features pleated stitching and Tickford embossing,” the company says, confirming the kit has passed independent testing for airbag compliance.

“Mustang’s centre console is also upgraded with a unique suede and OEM-spec leather Tickford design.”

The Tickford operation has now set its sights outside the Mustang and the Ranger, with the Ford Everest next in line for the firm’s personalisation program.
