TJM has opened its new LandCruiser Prado 250 Series portfolio with a pair of bull bars catering to the two major tastes: hooped and hoopless.
Priced from $3250 plus fitting, the Outback bull bar is a triple-hooped bar protecting the entire front end of the new Prado while improving its approach angle and clearance, not to mention accommodating all the usual auxiliaries like winches, spotlights, ariels, driving lights and parking sensors.
The bar itself weighs in at 77kg but only adds 50kg to the Prado’s kerb weight once the pre-existing hardware has been removed.
The hoopless Venturer bar meantime costs $2850 plus fitting and tips the scales at 67kg (adding 40kg) but is only compatible with Hawse fairlead winches.
Both units come with 8000kg rated recovery points and winch frames rated to 9500lb, and both are fully compatible with the 250 Series’ myriad active safety systems, driver aids, airbags and crumple zones.
“This new Prado 250 … has been built on a TNGA-F platform creating a smoother ride and handling plus power delivery with what we believe will be a superior off-road capable vehicle, meaning this car was designed for those looking for adventure,” Aeroklas Asia Pacific Group vehicle merchandise manager Darren Piper said.
“And we were so excited to be able to access this car at the time of the global release, it was a true privilege, and we thank our international partners for the opportunity and openness to cross-collaboration.
“With this vehicle and the TJM products we’ve designed you have everything you need to make adventure happen right here in Australia.”
Every TJM bull bar is covered by a national three-year warranty, with the Prado bars able to be ordered now and set to be joined shortly by a series of side steps, side bars, underbody protection, rear bars, snorkels, suspension and GVM upgrades.
