TJM has revealed its new range of accessories for the new second-generation 2023 Volkswagen Amarok, meaning customers now have another option for an ADR-compliant bull bar – and other aftermarket parts – in the absence of a factory option available from VW.
The new accessories are being shown in the metal at this weekend’s National 4x4 Outdoors Melbourne Show, specifically on a display vehicle decked out with the TJM Outback bull bar and a host of other aftermarket Amarok options.
These include a 9500lb winch, off-road sidestep protection, XGS remote suspension upgrade, Uniden UHF, the latest Ultima light bars, RB6 rear protection towbar, Yakima LockNLoad Platform, Maxtrax off-road traction boards and Black Bear all-terrain 21-inch tyres.
“We believe we have designed a suite of accessories that look fantastic and are in keeping with the aesthetics of Volkswagen’s outstanding vehicle design,” said Aeroklas Asia Pacific Group merchandise manager, Darren Piper.
“This accessory range will really help Volkswagen customers go that one step further, take the lead and transform their vehicle into a machine that will enable them to go anywhere in the great Aussie outdoors.”
ARB is the only other major aftermarket accessories provider offering a bull bar for the Ford Ranger-based Amarok after VW Commercial Vehicles opted out of developing a factory unit due to the costs and complexities involved.
These include approval from VW headquarters in Germany, onboard safety and driver assist compatibility and meeting the Australian Design Rule for frontal protection systems.
“Pure investment-wise it’s a challenge,” VW Commercial Vehicles Australia director Ryan Davies told carsales last year.
“Realistically, what you have to do to put a bull bar on a car at first-stage compliance is massively different to what you have to do if you’re doing it after the car is registered.”
But while a bull bar is missing from the factory catalogue, VW hasn’t skimped on other genuine accessories like canopies, nudge bars, side steps, roller covers, tonneaus, cargo slides, a damped tailgate, drawer system, roof platforms, fender flares, snorkels and more.
The new TJM Outback bar is compatible with every Amarok variant currently offered in Australia, including the petrol-powered Aventura TSI452 flagship.
