TOKYO MOTOR SHOW: New Lexus teased

Prestige car-maker previews 'daring luxury concept' car on home turf

Is this the first official glimpse of Lexus' next-generation flagship luxury saloon, the LS?

Perhaps the much-touted LC sports coupe?

The Toyota-owned company is not saying at this stage, revealing only this solitary image of the secret car's headlight cluster (current LS pictured alongside).

Sporting a trio of LED headlight lenses surrounded by the Japanese company's signature 'L-Finesse' design ethos – basically lots of sharp angles – and underpinned by stylised blade LED driving lights, the preview reveals little... Except, perhaps, that a new model is on its way.

Lexus rarely produces concept cars just for laughs, with almost every prototype design leading to a full-line production model eventually.

The premium car maker says the new concept is its 'vision of progressive luxury' and will be revealed on October 28 in Tokyo.

At the show, the company will also publicly unveil the new GS F high-performance sedan, which we have recently tested, scoring it 82 out of 100.

Stay tuned for more news directly from the 2015 Tokyo motor show.
